The fifth time is apparently sometimes the charm. Or else this was an anomoly.
I've written a little Don/Charlie fic, rated NP for no porn. Scrape (10k).

Charlie was lying on the couch with the latest issue of Discrete Applied Mathematics; when he looked up, it was to try running a cycle of Cechlárová's algorithm for testing eigenvectors in his head. Sight cut in before sound, so for a few seconds he was processing the algorithm and watching Don walk through the noon-bright living room, waving his hands expressively as he spoke.

Very, very nice story. :-))

I seem to be getting drawn into this fandom in spite of myself. Just don't anyone tell [info]alinewrites, because Blakes 7 is supposed to be next on the list. Of course, my excuse for Numb3rs is that it's practically set in my backyard; I used to live in Pasadena (looks like chez Eppes is a nice California Craftsman), and I recognize a lot of the places where they film (although a bit of the UCLA campus seems to have wandered onto the CalTech grounds to create CalSci). Guess I have to go find a Numb3rs icon now; in the meantime, this one from Lost will have to do.
