haha binge tv watching what are you talking about

So apparently there's some kind of televised sports competition going on right now? IDK because for the last day or so I have been watching A LOT OF RECORDED TV.

So yesterday I watched six hours of White Collar and then this morning I watched two more episodes and then ran around like a crazy person cleaning up my apartment and then I--

YAY!

I went and got [info]strangecobwebs from Cameron Mitchell International Airport, because she is visiting me this weekend and I had not seen her in a YEAR and she had been sitting on my couch for less than an hour before she suggested that we should really finish getting me caught up on White Collar.

This is why she is my Valentine, okay.

So now I am all caught up on White Collar and I would just like to say YAY and FEEL FREE TO REC ME SOME OT3 FIC and JONESY PETER ILU.

And then we sat around and talked for a bit and then she said, "Do you watch Leverage?"

And I said, "Not yet."

And then we ordered pizza and watched six episodes of Leverage, and I would just like to say YAY and FEEL FREE TO REC ME SOME OT3 FIC and one other thing, having just watched the one with the orphans:

Parker and Mark Vorkosigan. DISCUSS.

I am currently reading AMAZING Leverage fic on ff.net no less, where Eliot has pneumonia and bounty hunters are after him or some shit. If it turns into Eliot/Nate I am out, but it has been a long time since I read anything that ended every chapter with "That sounds dangerous!!! LOL thanks for the feedback, you guys!" and it is kind of making me nostalgic.

DID it turn into Nate/Eliot? Because, wow, that would be wrong. I think the only wronger thing would be Nate/Parker, which just makes my brain stop functioning completely. But gen or OT3 would be perfectly lovely!

Yaaaay! She is STILL on my couch but now we are all kind of TV-hungover and quietly reading fic together. Which is a whole other kind of fangirl-awesome. :)

She is! She had a horrible unloved upbringing as an orphan which has led her to become a thief who loves (and compulsively steals) money and valuable things for the sake of their value, not any particular interest in fine things or pleasure. And then she rescued a lot of orphans at great personal risk and with a totally half-cocked plan. Somehow she just makes me think of Mark. :)

I just read this lovely Parker-centric fic, which ends on a OT3-ish note and has completely amazing and wonderful Parker characterization. And then there's The Chainsaw Job, in which there are zombies, and Yuletide had a pair of fics that were stand-alones but technically crossovers between White Collar AND Leverage. Yin and Yang. :D

Parker and Mark: a frightening combination. Not to be mixed, probably explosive, and most likely would develop incredibly unhealthy eating habits, as Mark has a full Gang of Issues, and Parker would totally make comments about his weight. On the other hand, he would be delighted by her work re: corporate espionage, and Parker would be thrilled with all the high-tech space-y vaults she'd get to break into, as long as she was paid in cash. Hmmm.

Mostly I was thinking about how awesomely, horribly alike Parker and Mark are in certain senses--Parker's love of money and Mark's need for wealth strike me as similar drives. Plus, half-cocked orphan-rescue which requires one's family to bail one out.

Crazily enough, I just watched the first three episodes of both White Collar and Leverage in the past two weeks. Aren't they amazing? I have to say that I like Leverage a bit better.

You'd best post recs when you find all this awesome OT3 fanfic.

Parker and Miles would make an awesome team although I think Miles might find Parker a bit stressful at first although this would only be because Miles would have to figure out how Parker works so he could make the most of her abilities in his plans. Parker would find Miles facinating because he works with the idea of being underestimated in his diguises yet he's so very slippery about things with his own brand of off-white morality that really matches a lot closer to Parker's than what Miles is probably happy with. Now I keep thinking about what would happen when Mark was brought into the scenario.

Of course this is all assuming this is Miles pre-Ekaterin, say circa Warrior's Apprentice and The Vor Game.

As, just fyi, friended you so I could keep here and on dw - I wasn't sure which journal was your primary. I assume from the "originally posted" it's dw?

Parker and Mark were actually the ones I was thinking of--they're so alike in certain ways. Especially the half-cocked orphan-rescue schemes. *g*

I use both journals pretty evenly, because everything is crossposted and comments are open at both--but I am, generally speaking, moving in the direction of DW.

OMG binge TV viewing FTW!

I watched all of White Collar last weekend and ♥ ♥ ♥! Then I caught up with all of Leverage s3 on my day off the other day. And yet my DVR still has *other shows* for me... But I'm definitely feeling your enthusiasm on those two! \o/

Oh YAY that is an awesomely fun vid!

And, yeah, I officially don't know what to do with myself now. I think this means I am following ... seven tv shows? Eight? I already had Castle, Southland, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, and The Mentalist, and now I add White Collar and Leverage. THAT IS A LOT OF TV. FOR ME.
