I meant to write this as a Yuletide Treat, but Christmas was exhausting and then... January happened. Anyway! I have written it now, as a New Years Resolution story for

roga, who asked for Charlie, Rachel, Constance, and Dani, but not in bed together. This is pretty certainly not what she was thinking of, but... here it is.

Yuletide! Revealed!

I wrote Now 'Tis Buried Deep for

missmollyetc for their beta, input, and hand-holding services.

My story is now one of the two pieces of fic I know of for Kate Ross's Julian Kestrel mysteries (Cut to the Quick, A Broken Vessel, Whom the Gods Love, and The Devil in Music), which probably most of you have not heard of and which are sadly out of print now (Ms. Ross died in 1998 after writing those four books, and every time I reread them, I curse the universe for taking her from us before there could be more).

But if your local used book store or public library (or abebooks.com or your local library's interlibrary loan service) has them and you like the sound of an 1820s dandy solving mysteries incidental to his never-ending quest for more father-figures, you know, you should check them out.

(The stories I did not write for Yuletide, because they were not what my recipient asked for, include the one where Sally secretly has Julian's baby and Julian finds out only years later--angsty kidfic is my Kryptonite!--and the one where Temeraire hires Julian Kestrel to investigate the death of a dragon because no one else will treat it as a murder. OH MAN I WANT THAT STORY NOW.)

Fic: Attack of the Orange Pop Zombies, PG

I have committed Zombie Flashfic over at

tw_flashfic--and if anyone else wants to join me, I think the challenge runs through Thursday, so now is the time!

I also managed to hit the spin-off trifecta, as this story contains (minor) spoilers for Torchwood "End of Days", Doctor Who "Last of the Time Lords", and Sarah Jane Adventures "Invasion of the Bane". \o/

Postultimate Missing Persons update

Which just goes to show that occasionally if you stick me 37,000 feet in the air with my laptop but no internet for a couple of hours, I may accomplish something. (Also accomplished: nap during takeoff, watching of downloaded British quiz show featuring John Barrowman singing about ten-foot whale cock during chocolate chip cookie time.) (...What, your airline doesn't have chocolate chip cookie time?)
